A manufacturing business with ambitious overseas development plans required funding so that it could realise these plans. The funding organisation approached Ashley Hoyle to undertake a Management Due Diligence assessment of the senior team.

The Team:  Managing Director, Overseas Development Director, Operations Director, Non Executive Chairman.

The Process:  Individual assessments were conducted comprising psychometrics, in-depth interviews and management simulation exercises to develop a detailed view of the style, abilities, strengths and limitations of each team member.

The Outcome

  • The process confirmed the significant strengths and potential of all members of the senior team.
    For one individual we uncovered significant motivational issues which seemed likely to affect performance and reliability.

  • Further discussions with the funding organisation identified appropriate succession plans and the funding deal was concluded.

  • Subsequently the motivational issues became untenable for the business and an exit strategy for the individual was put into place.
